A more recent song claims, ‘There can be miracles when you believe; though hope is frail, it’s hard to kill.’ Faith and hope in powers we cannot yet see are said to ‘move mountains’. Are these not greater then? Why is love the greatest?
There could be a thousand valid angles on this one but I once heard it explained like this.
In the heavenly resurrection that is to come we shall see our Lord face to face and no longer have to struggle against the bleak horrors of this present age. We shall no longer have need of faith or hope.
But love? Love is eternal. It never becomes obsolete. It can be treasured and enjoyed forever.
Let’s thank the Lord today for all His gracious gifts, not least the ones that hold promise for better things ahead. Things like His redeeming love.
It’s the greatest!
